Apple One & Transcend Services:

Apple One Employment Service:  I've removed the link for Apple One.  Here is part of their e-mail to me:  "First off, we are a recruiting firm that is currently doing all MT recruiting for Transcend Services, Inc. in Atlanta.  Our company is based out of California but has roughly 350 branches across the United States. The branch I work out of and will do all the recruiting out of is in Atlanta.  All equipment including the actual computer, relevant software programs, wave pedals, etc. will be supplied by Transcend Services at no charge to the FT employee. Once we send them an offer letter they will then be transferred to Transcend Services where they will receive Medical, Dental and life insurance as well as a 401(k) plan after three months of successfully maintaining the minimum standard of 11,000 lines per pay period."   In November 2004, I received an e-mail from an employee hired through Apple One, who informed me that they (Transcend, I assume) are actually charging their employees an equipment fee of $60 per month.  I sent an e-mail to M. Swint on 11/23/04, again on 12/20/04, and a third e-mail on 1/14/04, asking Apple One to clarify this discrepancy for me.  They ignored all 3 of my e-mails, declining to answer my questions or clarify their policies.  So, as I warned them, I have removed their link.  Please beware of companies that decline to answer questions regarding discrepancies in what they promise and what they deliver.  And, Until I hear from Apple One or Transcend, the link will not be replaced.

Regarding Transcend:  After removing the link for Apple One and Transcend, I received an e-mail from a kind MT who works for Transcend.  She informed me that the equipment fee was dependent upon production, as follows:  If you produce less than 15,000 lines per pay period, the monthly leasing fee is $60.  If you produce 15,001 to 20,000, the monthly leasing fee is $30.  If you produce more than 20,000 lines per pay period, then the leasing fee is free.  The rate is dependent on a 6-month average of lines per pay period and is the fee is locked for 6 months.  So technically, if you produce enough, you can rent your computer for free.

Their policy has recently been changed as follows:
The following employees will no longer pay a computer lease fee:

The following employees will benefit from a reduced computer lease fee of $20 per pay period:

The full or part-time status of a new hire shall be determined in conjunction with the benefit eligibility review that takes place on or about the 90th day of employment.

However, since they never bothered answering my e-mails, I'm not going to bother to replace their link.
